Story
Born March 3rd, 2000, Anshul Barnwal was named after the Sanskrit word for “Sunbeam,” and he lived up to his namesake by leading a blindingly bright life that brought immense joy to those around him. Anshul was fueled with a fiery determination that led him to always be stubbornly committed to everything he did, whether being an advocate for positive social change, building communities, or chasing his dreams as an aspiring screenwriter.
Anshul grew up in Scarsdale, New York, and graduated from Edgemont Junior-Senior High School in 2017 with many recognitions and honors under his belt. Anshul went on to study at Dartmouth College where he earned his degree in computer science, psychology, and theater. While always a prolific writer even as a child, he discovered his passion for specifically television screenwriting during his college years and resolved to break into the entertainment industry. During his time at Dartmouth, he served as the President and Video Director of the Dartmouth Political Time and as the Artistic Director of the Street Soul Dance Troupe, leaving a deep, widespread impact on the communities he led. Beyond academics and leadership, Anshul also loved competing in Super Smash Bros and Pokemon, recording anime analysis for his burgeoning Youtube channel called Monkfruit, cooking delicious meals for friends, traveling the world, and singing.
